Belts are commonly worn as part of ceremonial dress. Each belt is worn in a different way by different regiments across the Armed Forces. Many belts are to be worn over officer dress, such as the no.2 dress of the British Army or Royal Navy officer dress.
Some belts were created by members of previous British officers. For example, Sam Browne had no left arm and so created a belt due to personal difficulties he experienced in uniform wear. The Sam Browne belt is now a common accessory to the traditional ceremonial dress.
This category features standard belts such as the Army belt or Marine belt, to the classified sword frog belts, cross belts and bayonet belt.
